Dynamic Filtration Comes In Smaller Packages

There is a growing need for better filtration, reduced operational costs, and greater flexibility in baghouse dust collection. With the launch of Donaldson’s Torit PowerCore dust collectors, with PowerCore filter packs, these dust collectors offer a solution for all the aforementioned concerns and are smaller and smarter than traditional baghouse technologies.

PowerCore filter packs deliver better dust filtration by combining Donaldson Torit’s proven and patented Ultra-Web® surface-loading technology with a fluted-media design that allows more media in a small volume. PowerCore filter packs capture both large and small dust particles. Tests have shown that PowerCore filter packs provide up to 78 percent fewer emissions than traditional bags – translating to cleaner plant air and greater product recovery.
 
PowerCore media technology is integral to the dramatic downsizing of the Torit PowerCore collector. Just seven inches tall, one PowerCore filter pack replaces six traditional eight-foot long fabric filter bags. Dave Blane, Industrial Air Filtration Director, says “The exciting thing about PowerCore is the size of the dust collection units. Compared to conventional baghouse collectors with similar airflow capacity, PowerCore dust collectors are up to 50% smaller”.

In addition, smaller sized Torit PowerCore collectors allow new applications at the point of use and can eliminate the need for complicated duct work or a large, energy-consuming central dust collector. With greater flexibility, manufacturers can now maximize space on the plant floor while containing costs.

With extraordinary results in major wood, grain, cement, and plastics manufacturing operations, full-scale Torit PowerCore collectors are available in stand-alone and bin vent configurations. Stand-alone Torit PowerCore dust collectors are up to 50 percent smaller and can be ducted for many different applications. The bin vent models are up to 70 percent smaller and can be used on silos, conveyor belt transfer pits, conveyor dischargers, blenders and mixers.
